Peter Usewick
Co-President
A third-year member of the club, Peter Usewick is now a Co-President. Mr. Usewick does not only have the passion and persistence that satisfies this position, but he also has the experience. Planning fundraisers is a difficult task for many, but Mr. Usewick is faced with these challenges annually. In the BRHS Key Club, he participated in the routine bake sales; on the BRHS Football Team, he raised hundreds of dollars selling discount cards; supporting the Bridgewater Football League, he helped out with the youth’s “shake-a-can” fundraiser on the doorsteps of a multitude of local businesses.
Sam Senzon
Co-President
Sam Senzon joined the BRHS Stock Market Club during his freshman year. Sam is a Co-President of the club. As an active member in the club, Sam is extremely interested in the computational subset of finance. He both takes and excels in numerous advanced math and computer science courses at BRHS. In addition, Sam is a member of both the Somerset Valley YMCA Swim Team and the BRHS Swim Team. Sam swims nearly every day for a total of over fifteen hours a week. In 2018, the BRHS Men's Swim Team was declared as the NJSIAA Public A State Champions after defeating Cherry Hill East in the state finals. Sam also volunteers at Care One Rehabilitation Center in Somerset where he assists in recreational activities with patients. Furthermore, he has been studying Spanish for the past six years and is a contributing member in the BRHS chapter of the Spanish National Honors Society. Sam is able to balance academics, swimming, and extracurriculars effectively, and he has a tremendous interest in STEM fields.
Chase Akumiah
Vice-President
Chase Akumiah became a member of the BRHS Stock Market Club in his sophomore year. Chase is now the vice-president of the club. As a dedicated member of the club, Chase has demonstrated a strong understanding of the business aspect of the stock market and has provided leadership to the club in understanding the mechanics of buying and selling stocks. Chase expects to use his experiences that he is gaining through activities with the club as well as the lessons that he has learned throughout the various business classes offered at BRHS to launch a career in Marketing. In addition, Chase is a member of the Bridgewater 2 Knights Lacrosse team as well as the BRHS Varsity Lacrosse team. The BRHS Men’s Lacrosse team has earned the title of Somerset County Tournament Champions for the last four years straight. Chase also uses his spare time to volunteer at the local First United Methodist Church of Somerset, tutoring and spending time with children that are less fortunate. Overall given these points, Chase has a clear commitment to this club, his academics, and sports, and will continue to strive to ensure that the BRHS Stock Market Club exceeds its astounding potential.
